Starting…
Firstly, please ignore the date above (March 11th)…I don’t yet know how to change that date.
Why have a team? What is our why? Why aren’t you brokering anymore? Is John going to quit doing hair?
These are some of the most commonly asked questions we’ve been asked - and some questions we’ve asked ourselves. The answers are really simple.
I stepped down from being a managing broker because there are things that John and I want to do that requires more income than what the position would pay. I loved many things about my job, but at the end of the day, I had to make a decision putting John and myself first…so that’s what I did.
So then why start a team? Easy. When John earned his real estate license, I noticed some of my weaknesses are some of his strengths. Before John became a REALTOR, he oftentimes worked behind the scenes, helping me with listings and marketing. Now that we both are licensed agents, partnering to provide our collective strengths to clients seemed like a very natural progression and we found we work really well together. We’ve known Joey for years and respect him a great deal, so I was excited when he first told me he wanted to pursue a career in real estate.
Is John going to quit doing hair? No! I may be a little biased, but I’ve known and observed other stylists and colorists in Atlanta and Nashville, and I believe John is among the best of the best…and he still has so much to contribute to the hair scene in Nashville.
So then the last question: what is our “why”? Why work in the real estate industry? Today, we had clients that closed on the sale of their home - and in a few days, they’ll close on the purchase of their next home. When I’ve helped a client negotiate an offer on a home, land a winning contract, work through their financing and inspection hurdles, and finally arrive at the closing table, it is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences I’ve had. When I hand the keys over to my clients - or when my clients tell me they’ve received their proceeds from selling their property, I know that I helped them close or start a new chapter in their lives, and it makes me smile from the inside, out. The truth is I don’t celebrate the paydays…I celebrate our clients’ wins.
