Meet Christopher Grimes
Born the first of four strong-willed kids, leadership found me early…usually right after someone colored on the wall. Being the eldest taught me to listen carefully, solve problems quickly, and step up when it matters most.
Before real estate, I studied music performance at Clayton State University and computer systems engineering at N.I.I.T. in Atlanta, a combination that helped perfect both creative and analytical thinking. In 2003, I followed in the footsteps of my great-grandfather and grandfather, both successful in real estate, and launched my real estate career alongside my mom after attending Barney Fletcher’s School of Real Estate in Atlanta. What began as assisting an agent in Metro-Atlanta quickly grew into a true calling.
Music still played a major role in my life during those years. I played piano and sang in church, which led to meeting, and eventually playing and singing backup for, a gifted country artist. That chapter brought me to Nashville in 2012. By 2014, I stepped away from the music industry to join Nashville’s Sotheby’s International Realty affiliate brokerage, bringing my love of performance into a new kind of stage: guiding clients through life-changing moves.
In 2018, I joined the brokerage’s Executive Leadership Team as Director of Corporate Development and later served as Principal Broker. In that role, I focused on creating opportunities for agents by building strong relationships with marketing partners, mortgage lenders, and a productive leads program. Partnering with an innovative California-based company, I helped launch a white-glove, company-branded service that finances and manages home renovations for clients, and I led the creation of a license-holding company to support agents transitioning out of day-to-day sales while still earning referral income.
In the spring of 2022, I stepped out of firm leadership and stepped into something more entrepreneurial, partnering with John Grimes and a dear friend to form Partners In Grimes. By July 2022, we affiliated with Corcoran Reverie, aligning with a brand that reflects our commitment to thoughtful service and elevated marketing.
Service beyond the closing table is deeply important to me. I currently serve in several organizations and associations with a heart to strengthen both our industry and our community. In 2025, I was elected to the Greater Nashville Realtors Board of Directors and serve as a servant-leader in this role through 2028.
When I am not working or tending to the farmette my spouse and I call home, I enjoy investing time and resources into organizations that make a positive impact on people’s lives, including Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville. Serving organizations that touch people reminds me that my calling is far more than properties; it’s about people, stories, and helping people know there’s a place where they belong.
